It's Been A While!

Well...what can I say?  I have been a slacker on my blogging!  Buying a house...getting married...honeymoon...working...holidays...yea I have been busy!  But I am glad to be back.  If you didn't notice, I changed the name...yes AGAIN!  Bling Bling Cupcake Queen was way too long...and to be honest I am SO over cupcakes...and the last ones I made were not awesome!  I figure Sweat and Sequins is much more fitting!  Instead of catching you up on my life...I am just going to start over!

I have been off work the past week (Holiday Gift Week)  It has proven to me that I need something to do at all times....I get board :)  I officially became Mrs. Logue this week.  Talk about a process.....I mean I am not sure what is worse.....having the flu or being at the Nashville DMV....I say flu because at least you lose a few pounds that way....that place is AWFUL.

I have been cooking A LOT lately.  I get a new recipe off Pinterest each week to try something new.  Tonight we had this!

Slow Cooker Parmesan Honey Pork!
It was FABULOUS! I served it with Baked Potatoes and sauteed Zucchini.  Wonderful and pretty healthy Dinner!

If you are not on Pinterest, you are missing out on life!!  It is amazing and has the greatest ideas!!

I made this shutter Christmas Card Holder.  I got the plastic shutter at Southeastern Salvage in Nashville and spray painted it Black.  Then I used clothespins to hold the photos on the shutter.  After the holidays I will just put pictures up there!

Dave and I have done a lot of decorating to the on my list is curtains.  I can't decide on all white or a pattern.

I can't believe that it is almost 2012.  This year has flown by!!  Dave and I are going to dinner with friends and to a NYE party afterwards!!  Big Question?!?!? What black dress from my closet shall I wear??  I mean I have enough for each day of the year!

Here are a few dresses I am loving right now!!  All from Pinterest of course :)

Of course I need to look like these girls as well!! HAHA!  Well that's all for this post!  Have A Happy New Year.  Maybe New Year's Resolution Post next!?!?!

Ok Ok!  I have been MIA again!! I am back for a bit now!  Dave and I just bought a house and moved in over the past few months....which means painting, furniture buying, yard work etc.  I have also been out of town a few times for Bachelorette Parties and wedding showers so needless to say I have a lot to catch up on!

A few weeks ago I had my first Bridal Shower!! It was given by my mom's best friends Cheri and Kim.  It was PERFECT!!  They named each food item after a honeymoom destination.  For example the mini sandwiches were on Hawaiian Bread so they were named Hawaiian Ham....such a cute idea!!

Kim made these cupcakes and OMG they were AMAZING!! She had a star on mine named the "Bling Bling Cupcake Queen"  It was perfect.  See below for a few photos!!  These ladies worked so hard on the shower and it couldn't of been any more wonderful!! Love you both!!

At the end of the shower my grandmother had everyone go around and give advice about marriage!  It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

After the shower we made ALL of my wedding invitations!!  Thanks to Cheri they were pre-made and we just had to put them together.  Since they already went out here is a photo.  They are so amazing....I was speechless when I saw them!!!  Cheri said that she is now in the invitation if you need some made let me know!!

Wedding Season

The last two weekends Dave and I have shared wedding days with our close friends.  The weekend before last Simon and Lizzie were married in Jackson, TN.  They are such a sweet couple.  Simon is a groomsman in our wedding and a great friend of Dave's.  Simon is from Ireland so they had a few Irish touches in the wedding which made it so great!  At the end of the ceremony we all rang bells as the entire bridal party skipped down the cute!

This weekend Dave and I were both apart of the Ruth wedding.  A little back story on this couple :)  I actually introduced Emily and Clint.  Emily went to Lambuth with Dave and Clint went to Kentucky with me.  I didn't really know Clint in college (he is older than me I like to rub that in) but Dave and him are friends from childhood.  Dave introduced Emily and I and we were friends ASAP!  She is such a sweet person and a wonderful friend!  I was so excited she asked me to be a bridesmaid.  Her and Clint are so in love!  The excitement  on his face when she was came down the aisle was so sweet.  They really are perfect for each other.  I am so sad that they are moving to Indiana......Here of some photos of the beautiful bride!!

Can't wait to go on vacation again with these ladies!

Last night before they were married!

Speaking of weddings I purchased all of the Bridesmaid gifts today!!! I cannot wait to give them to my girls!  Dave and I have our first couples shower in 2 weeks!  I AM SO EXCITED!!!  We move into our new house 1 day before so we will have a brand new home to bring all of our presents to.  We have the best friends in the world!  I will share plenty of pictures from that!

Also, remember last week when I had a meltdown about vases....well MOM came through as usual!  She found some vases.  Of course she did, she finds everything!!

Ok I have not blogged any recipes lately either!  I made these cookies last week for Dave and he loved them....ok I made them for me too!  I wonder how awesome my abs would be if I didn't eat cookies! You totally need to make these!  I got the recipe from one of my favorite blogs, The Girl Who Ate Everything.

Neiman Marcus Cookies

1 cup butter, softened (I used the Crisco baking sticks because they have less saturated fat)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups uncooked regular oats

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

4 ounces milk chocolate candy bar, coarsely chopped ( I used a bar of Cadbury, Dave's Favorite)

1 cup chopped pecans (I used walnuts)

Preheat oven to 375°.

Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Stir in chocolate chips, milk chocolate bar, and pecans.

Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. *I always use parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on baking sheets. Then, remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yields 4 dozen cookies

Yea so I have been a bad blogger again.  I do have good reason.  I am finding a free second right now to blog because I am laying in my hotel room in Minneapolis.

My schedule with buying a house, attending weddings and showers and also trying to plan my own wedding has been a little crazy lately....oh yea and my JOB!

Before May 31, I will be in Minneapolis for a few days this week, attending Emily and Clint's wedding this weekend (Yes, call me cupid), NYC the beginning of next week, New Orleans the end of next week for Rachel's Bachelorette Party and the day I get back Dave and I close on our FIRST HOME! *take a breath*

Everything happens at once right?

Emily, Me and Jenn at Steeplechase last year

I will say that I LOVE WEDDINGS and I am so excited to be a part of Emily and Clint's this weekend!  I get to wear a super cute bridesmaid dress (yes, Emily was able to find one I will wear again!), get my hair and make up done and watch a great friend get married all in one day!! I cannot wait to share her special day with her!

Mom and I at Arrington Vineyards

Mom and I in Italy

So I am a little behind on my Mother's Day post but I think it was because I needed to make it after the phone call my mom and I had this morning.  You know those phone calls that you have when you are wedding planning and your world is falling apart because you can't find vases that you like.  Yea that happened! I am not sure that I can even explain in any amount of words how amazing my mom is.  She has taught me everything and I am facing the fact that I am just like her and I couldn't ask for anything more.  She knows exactly what to say to make me feel better.  She knows how I feel without me even having to tell her and she knows when something is on my mind by the tone in my voice.  I appreciate her so much and I am so so so lucky that she is all mine!  I just have to share her with her 2 puppies....which on given "Sloane's Life is falling apart days" I am sure she loves them more :)  I just want to thank you Mom for loving me unconditionally and always looking out for what is best for me, and you always know what is truly best!!  LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  I can only hope that I am able to share something even half as special as we have with my child one day.  Yes I said ONE DAY! Don't get your hopes up about grand kids just yet!  Plus you are way to young to be a Grandma... :)

I made the best pasta dish last Friday night and Neiman Marcus Cookies!! OMG!  I promise I will post those this week!  Pasta is super healthy....cookies...nothing a little INSANITY can't fix!  Stay tuned!

Sorry I Have Been MIA!

So this last week has been SO crazy!  Dave and I have been on the house search full force and WE FOUND ONE!!  After making 3 offers on 3 different houses in one week, you could say we were a little overwhelmed!  We are SO EXCITED!  Once everything is just the way we want it, I will share some pictures.  I can't wait to do some DIY home projects!  Here are some things that both of us really like and would love to put in our new home.

Concrete Countertops-My mom is who told me about these.  She has such wonderful taste and I am going to practically copy what she has done in her home....She is such an amazing mother....In honor of Mother's Day I'll be blogging about her this week!

Tiled Shower- The masterbath has an amazing tub and a separate shower that we would love to tile and make a little larger.  Here are some ideas.

The first thing we want to do however is paint.  I am really into gray, thanks again to my mom.  What do you think about these colors?  Loving the bright white crown molding that is already in this house!!

Ok that is all for tonight....I need to work on our registry since we have some amazing friends throwing us a couples shower soon and I also need to work on some invitations for the wedding :)

So it is almost here!! MY FIRST DRESS FITTING!!! I am so excited!  I am going home on Saturday morning with a great friend and bridesmaid, Kate, to see my dress and pray that all goes well!  My mom is coming as well as a couple other bridesmaids!  I will def. keep you posted on how that goes.  I found these wedding shoes that I LOVE!  They were in the new issue of BRIDES magazine last night!  Not sure Dave was too thrilled about the price tag....I am sure I can find them on sale somewhere! Rue La La has sales on Bagley Mishka all the time!  I can't decide if I like Black or White....Big Surprise!

Ok so Easter is Sunday and I am so excited! I LOVE EASTER CANDY!  I know that I don't need it but I sure do love it!  A few of my favorites are:

I really want to make this cake!  My mom made me one when I was little and I just loved it!  I have always wanted to make another one! Maybe a great thing for Sunday Afternoon!!

Got the recipe and diagram from What's 4 Dinner Tonite
Bunny Cake

2 baked 9-inch round white cake layers, cooled

1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

1 pkg. (7 oz.) BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut

suggested decorations (licorice, gumdrops, jelly beans)

LEAVE 1 cake whole. Use serrated knife to cut remaining cake into 3 pieces as shown in diagram. (See Tip.) Arrange on large foil-covered board or platter to resemble a bunny’s head and bow tie, using small amount of COOL WHIP to attach pieces to each other.

FROST cake with remaining COOL WHIP.

SPRINKLE with coconut. Decorate with remaining ingredients as shown in photo. Keep refrigerated.

Speaking of Cake, Dave and I really need to decide what we are going to do!  Here are a few cake ideas that I like for the wedding!

I love this but not with the flowers!!

I really just want an all white cake but I had to put this on here because it is so "Sloane"

Almost there!!

Ok that is all for now!! Hope you have a wonderful Easter! Make sure to remember the real meaning of Easter...not just for the Bunny...or the Robin Eggs!
