Wedding Season

The last two weekends Dave and I have shared wedding days with our close friends.  The weekend before last Simon and Lizzie were married in Jackson, TN.  They are such a sweet couple.  Simon is a groomsman in our wedding and a great friend of Dave's.  Simon is from Ireland so they had a few Irish touches in the wedding which made it so great!  At the end of the ceremony we all rang bells as the entire bridal party skipped down the aisle...so cute!

This weekend Dave and I were both apart of the Ruth wedding.  A little back story on this couple :)  I actually introduced Emily and Clint.  Emily went to Lambuth with Dave and Clint went to Kentucky with me.  I didn't really know Clint in college (he is older than me I like to rub that in) but Dave and him are friends from childhood.  Dave introduced Emily and I and we were friends ASAP!  She is such a sweet person and a wonderful friend!  I was so excited she asked me to be a bridesmaid.  Her and Clint are so in love!  The excitement  on his face when she was came down the aisle was so sweet.  They really are perfect for each other.  I am so sad that they are moving to Indiana......Here of some photos of the beautiful bride!!

Can't wait to go on vacation again with these ladies!

Speaking of weddings I purchased all of the Bridesmaid gifts today!!! I cannot wait to give them to my girls!  Dave and I have our first couples shower in 2 weeks!  I AM SO EXCITED!!!  We move into our new house 1 day before so we will have a brand new home to bring all of our presents to.  We have the best friends in the world!  I will share plenty of pictures from that!

Also, remember last week when I had a meltdown about vases....well MOM came through as usual!  She found some vases.  Of course she did, she finds everything!!

Ok I have not blogged any recipes lately either!  I made these cookies last week for Dave and he loved them....ok I made them for me too!  I wonder how awesome my abs would be if I didn't eat cookies! You totally need to make these!  I got the recipe from one of my favorite blogs, The Girl Who Ate Everything.

Neiman Marcus Cookies

1 cup butter, softened (I used the Crisco baking sticks because they have less saturated fat)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups uncooked regular oats

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

4 ounces milk chocolate candy bar, coarsely chopped ( I used a bar of Cadbury, Dave's Favorite)

1 cup chopped pecans (I used walnuts)

Preheat oven to 375°.

Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Stir in chocolate chips, milk chocolate bar, and pecans.

Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. *I always use parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on baking sheets. Then, remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yields 4 dozen cookies
